How could a more capable collective retain accountable decisions?
Explore provenance, bounded authority and disagreement tracking as conceptual requirements for advanced agent collectives.
What would count as evidence?
- Mark assumptions and conjectures explicitly.
- Distinguish testable near-term mechanisms from speculative ASI claims.
- Keep authority changes and decision provenance auditable.
Proposed procedure
- Describe a bounded decision scenario rather than an unrestricted objective.
- Map each agent’s permissions and escalation conditions.
- Identify what evidence a reviewer would need to reconstruct a decision.
- Design a small simulation to challenge the proposed mechanism.
